Abstract

1,273,950. Sealing rolling bearings. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 19 April, 1971 [16 April, 1970], No. 27050/71. Headings F2A and F2B. A rolling bearing assembly comprises an angle-sectioned sheet metal ring 4 pressed on to the shaft 6 and a resilient sealing disc 1 of U- shaped cross-section secured in an annular groove in the outer race; one flange 2 of the disc bears axially on a lateral surface of the radially-extending part 3 of the ring 4, whilst the other flange 5 bears against the shaft or a member rotating with the shaft. The sealing disc may contain a sheet metal insert 8. The space 7 acts as a grease reservoir.
