Abstract

1,207,985. Mechanical switches. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 27 March, 1968 [15 May, 1967], No. 22402/67. Heading H1N. An electric switch includes a body 10, a rotor 12 for angular movement between a plurality of angularly spaced positions to open and close electric contacts (not shown), an operating member 13 pivotally supported on rotor 12 for pivotal movement about an axis at right angles to the axis about which the rotor 12 moves and further electric contacts 23, 24 operable by pivoted movement of member 13, detent means 16, 19 maintaining member 13 in either a position where contacts 23, 24 are open or a position where contacts 23, 24 are closed irrespective of angular movements of rotor 12. Contacts 23, 24 may be normally open or normally closed. Detent means 11 maintains rotor 12 against accidental movement. Lever 14 moves member 13 and the free end (not shown) of lever 14 can be provided with a push-button type switch which controls a further circuit.
