Abstract
1,176,101. Snap-action electric switches. TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO. 1 Jan., 1968 [14 Jan., 1967], No. 79/68. Heading H1N. In a push-button snap-action switch the contact arm 5, 8, Fig. 1, is pivoted at B to an intermediate actuating lever arm 3 to extend between fixed contacts 6, 7, and has a bent spring portion 5A beyond which the arm is in engagement with a rigid pivoted arm 9. On depression of push-button 4 the bent portion 5A extends to snap the system over centre point D and to act as a retractive spring by moment about pivot point A of the arm 3. Both pivot points A and D are arranged on a common terminal 2. The arm 9 is slotted at 10, Fig. 3, for location on edge 12 of a central slot 11 of the contact arm 5 through which the arm 9 passes. The arrangement results in a positive sliding action of the moving contact 8 before the contacts open.
