Abstract
120,258. Keeley, E. H. Nov. 2, 1917. Plug couplings and connectors. - A plug coupling comprises pin contacts E on an insulating base D housed in a casing A, and co - operating female contacts L screwed into place in an insulating block J. The block J is housed in a member G having a shoulder or projection behind which a coupling member B, screwing on to the casing A, engages. The member G can enter the casing A only in one position, owing to the cooperating pin and slot C. The leads pass through a watertight gland I and are secured in openings 0 in the contact members L by screws, (not shown), which are then covered by an insulating cap M to prevent them from wording loose or being short circuited. The pins E are well within the casing A to protect them from injury or shortcircuiting. A screw cap, (not shown), which may be connected to the case A by chain to prevent loss, is provided to cover the casing when the coupling is not in use.
