Anode assembly for cathodic protection of e.g. a ships hull comprises several spaced apart electrically connected elongated anodes 10, insulating connecting elements 11 and an insulating shield 19a, 19b, 19c, end portions 19c being preferably half elliptical. Pb-Ag alloy anodes 15 are moulded into a resin glass fibre support 12 and welded to ships hull 18 via studs 17. Anode shield 19 is clamped between hull 18 and underside of support 12. End of each anode is electrically connected to adjacent anode by a cable passing through connector 11. Shield 19 and connectors 11 are made of resin glass fibre.
