Abstract

1294251 Cathodic deposition of potassium K ZIEGLER 4 Jan 1971 [14 Jan 1970] 281/71 Heading C7B Potassium is deposited from a molten organoaluminium potassium complex at a temperature up to 70‹C. (64 to 70‹C.). The complex is potassium-aluminium tetraalkyl, the melting point of which has been depressed with e.g. potassiummonoalkoxy-triethyl aluminium compounds or a solvent or diluent e.g. toluene. In an example a potassium amalgam anode is used with a cadmium coated copper basket partly immersed in the electrolytic melt.
