Abstract

1293105 Securing upholstery SEBEL Ltd. 30 June 1971 [13 July 1970] 30749/71 Heading A4M A chair has a seat or back portion comprising an outer shell 4 with a peripheral lip 6, an inner shell 9 with a peripheral lip 10, a padding layer 11, e. g. of foamed material, on the inner shell 9, and a cover 13 stretched over the padding 11 and around the inner shell lip 10 and secured to the inner shell 9, the inner shell 9 fitting within the outer shell 4 so that the inner lip 10 snaps into a groove 17 in the outer lip 6 to clamp the cover 13 between the lips 10, 6. Legs 1 have parts 8 engaged and secured in a channel 7 in the outer shell 4, securing screws 19 being engaged in posts 18 provided on the inner shell 9. The backet 3 may have an outer shell having integrally moulded extensions 19, which receive tubular back frame members 20, and an ash tray 21.
