Abstract

1,243,461. Upholstery. INDUSTRIAS FIGUERAS S.A. 13 Jan., 1969 [15 Jan., 1968], No. 1953/69. Heading A4M. An upholstered unit for a chair, e.g. a seat unit, backrest or armrest, includes a rectangular frame 5 with a plurality of inwardly pressed out hooks 9 and a fabric cover 2 overlying a resilient cushion pad 1 with its edges wrapped around the frame 5 and removably impaled on the -hooks 9 to secure the cover, the cover 2 -including a hem (3) containing an inextensible cable or cord (4) and being provided with eyelets 19 to receive the hooks 9. A casing 10 with vents (30) and an access port 20 receives the frame 8. The casing includes projections (11), 12 to locate the frame and bearings (13) facilitating pivotal mounting of the seat. The frame 8 contains a network of interconnected springs 6 and plate 7. In a backrest unit (Figs. 9-12) the frame (28) is snap-fitted in a casing (31).
