Abstract

1290416 Glazing greenhouses K A V HANSSON 7 Dec 1970 [11 Dec 1969] 58096/70 Headings E1A and E1R An elongate comer bar for supporting two panes, panels &c to define a corner of a building structure such as a greenhouse, comprises two flange portions 18, 20 inclined, e.g. at right angles, to each other, the flange portion 18 having a supporting flange 19, for securement to angle iron 16 forming part of the building structure, the other flange portion 20 having a panel engageable support flange 21 for supporting panel 7 and a ridge portion 22 spaced from flange 21, and a second flange 23 having a ridge portion 24 on the opposite side of the flange 20 to the flange 21, the panels 7 being secured by clamping resilient strips 5, one end of one of which engages the ridge 22 and the other end of which engages the end of the panel 7 on one side of the corner of the structure while one end of another strip 5 engages the ridge 24 with its other end engaging the end of the panel 7 on the other side of the corner. The Specification also includes descriptions of astragals as shown in Fig. 2 employed in constructing e.g. a greenhouse, and employing clamping strips as used in the corner construction, two further bars (Fig. 3) having a portion which constitutes a respective one of two parts of a hinge 1 of a shutter of the building structure; a roof ridge bar (Fig. 4) having a vertical web and a ridge portion extending on each side of the web at its top the free ends of the ridge forming parts of a hinge joint for a pivotal roof shutter; and a connecting bar (Fig. 5) for connecting together two greenhouse units and serving as a water channel. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1218532.
