Abstract

1289794 Stands displaying rolls of material I SCHNEIDER [trading as JOH FRIEDR SCHNEIDER] 19 April 1971 [31 July 1970] 22323/71 Heading A4T Apparatus displaying rolls of material comprises a rectangular frame 1 rotatably mounting two endless link chains 2 supporting the rolls therebetween, each roll having a shaft 4a secured at one end to a first drive means, e.g. disc 4b having a peripheral friction lining. A carriage 6 is displaceable by handle 10 and pin and slot connections 6a, 6b on a substantially horizontal guide 5 on the frame and carries a second similar drive means 8c driven via reduction gearing 8a from motor 8. On rotating the chains by a motor a given roll is brought to the position 4a and the carriage moved forward to engage the two drive discs 4b, 8c against return spring 7 so that spring 12 actuates switch 11 for motor 8, the direction of rotation of the roll for unwinding or winding up being determined by a front manual switch. The carriage may be displaced by a cable connected to a hand lever or foot pedal. Guide 9 counteracts the pressure of the carriage on the chain.
