Abstract

1285098 Sintered superalloys GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 26 Aug 1970 [29 Jan 1970] 41082/70 Heading C7D Sintered dispersion strengthened superalloys of Fe, Co and/or Ni are made by heating the alloy particles 0À0015-0À03" diameter (-20 + 400 US mesh) to form 0À1-6% volume film of carbide nitride and/or oxide and then hot consolidating the particles. The powders are preferably heated at 1100-1600‹ F. e.g. in air to form the film, packed in a steel container and extruded at e.g. 1800‹ F. Final working e.g. rolling or extrusion may be effected at 1900-2000‹ F. and recrystallization at 2200‹ F. The following alloys are exemplified: -
