Abstract

1281920 Stackable containers P A J WEBSTER 21 Nov 1969 [22 Nov 1968] 57141/69 Headings B8D and B8P The bottom of a stackable container A has an external peripheral cavity 1, bounded by its seamed edge 2 and an oblique part 3, and a central cavity into which fits a central projection on the lid of a similar container B when stacked, the lid also having an external peripheral cavity 7 bounded by its seamed edge 8 and an oblique part 9. The walls 6, 11 of the central cavity and projection respectively may be cylindrical or slightly conical. The container may be round, oval or polygonal and the peripheral cavities of the base may be omitted at any sharp-angled corners to simplify manufacture. The central projection of the lid may be shaped according to the purpose for which the container is intended, and may be apertured.
