Abstract

1496055 Drinking cup D R G PACKAGING Ltd 1 July 1975 27699/75 Heading A4A [Also in Division B8] A drinking cup 1 is provided with a lid 2 which is reversible so as to be releasably held on the cup in either a first position, Fig. 1, in which the lid makes a snap-fit engagement with the cup and the base of the lid lies above the mouth of the cup, or a second position, Fig. 2, in which the lid makes an interference fit with the interior wall of the cup and the base of the lid is disposed within the cup, thereby permitting stacking as shown. The base of the cup has a recess 4 which engages with a corresponding portion 8 of the lid when the cups are stacked. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the lid has an external circumferential rib (14) which forms a snap-fit engagement with a corresponding recess (15) in the wall of the cup when the lid is in the second position.
