Abstract

1281969 Injection moulding containers FLAMBEAU PLASTICS CORP 27 Oct 1970 50991/70 Heading B5A An injection mould for the production of thin walled, partitioned, plastics containers comprises a female part 14 and a male part 12 consisting of a number of spaced cores 22 interconnected by a flange 24. The opposed side walls of the container are formed between the spaced walls 18 and 30 of the mould parts, the container bottom is formed between the walls 16 and 26, and the container partitions are formed between adjacent cores. Plastics melt is fed to the mould cavity by two sprues 44, 46, each feeding via runners 50, 52, pairs of opposed gates 48, each gate feeding the cavity at a position adjacent the junction between the walls 16 and 18 and between the side walls of each core. In a modification the gates are positioned in the wall 16.
