Abstract

1278909 Container closures SOC ANGELO GUALA DI PIERGIACOMO E ROBERTO GUALA & C SAS 19 April 1971 [1 April 1970] 25488/70 Heading B8T A closure, for a container 19 having an internal undercut 21, comprises two parts: a main member 1 made of flexible plastics and an auxiliary member 13 made of rigid plastics. The main member 1 consists of a top flange 10, milled at 11 for easy gripping to remove the closure, and a stopper portion in the form of outer and inner walls 2, 6, the outer carrying a projection 4 adapted to engage the undercut. The member 1 is first positioned in the container, then member 13 is inserted so that tubular wall 14 extends between the inner and outer walls 2, 6. The top 16 of this wall 14 is connected by frangible links 18 to ring portion 17. This is supported in annular rebate 12 and holds the projection 15 in register with the projection 4, preventing the deformation of the wall 2 necessary to remove the closure. The closure is unsealed by pressing down portion 16, breaking the frangible links 18 to locate the projection 15 below the level of the projection 4. The closure can be re-used and the broken links indicate that it has been opened. Longitudinally extending ribs 8, 9 guide the wall 14 between walls 2 and 6, and flexible annular tabs 3 improve the gas seal of the closure.
