Abstract

1276546 Injection blow-moulding MASCHINENFABRIK UND GIESSEREI NETSTAL AG 24 June 1969 [25 June 1968] 31926/69 Heading B5A An injection mould for making hollow bodies of thermoplastic material comprises a core 2 having a portion 6 for forming a preform 3b, this portion having a thin sleeve-like layer of low thermal conductivity material, and the core has a fluid supply bore 5 therethrough closable by valve means 4b carried by a shaft 4a passing through the bore. The core 2 is mounted in a guide 1 and surrounded by an outer mould part (not shown) for injection moulding the preform 3b. To form an ampoule the core 2 and preform 3b are transferred to a second wider mould (not shown) and blowing fluid admitted through the valve 4b. The layer 6 may be of stainless steel, ceramic material, rubber or plastics material. The sleeved core may itself comprise a poorly conductive material.
