Abstract

1275320 Plug connector KABELUND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE AG 30 June 1970 [1 July 1969] 31639/70 Heading H2E A connector plug for flexible tape cable 1 having a plurality of electrical conductors 2-5 comprises two housing halves 10, 11 which may be hinged together, closable about the cable and associated contact blades 6-9, the housing having integral interengaging means on each half to keep the housing closed and strain relief means for the electrical connection between the cable conductors and their respective contact blades. The interengaging means may be projections 12 resiliently engaging recesses 13 and the strain relief means are pegs, of the housing half 10, engaging apertures 14, 15 in the cable 1 and pegs 16, 17 co-operatively engaging respective recesses in the contact blades. The blades may be butt welded to the cable conductors, one welding connection being made to the edges of two conductors 4, 5 through the aperture 14 or the far ends of each conductor and the other to the blades 8, 9 and so on. The welding contact may also be used to punch the aperture.
