Abstract

1,274,948. Knitting-machines. E. MAYER [trading as MAYER & CIE]. 25 July, 1969 [14 Aug., 1968], No. 37463/69. Heading D1C. A yarn guide for a circular machine comprises a metallic holder 10 capable of being secured at an appropriate position in the machine and a yarn guiding portion 13 having a slidable and interlocking connection with the holder 10. The portion 13 is made of a ceramic material or contains ceramic matter whereby wear caused by the yarn running through the guiding aperture 14 in the portion 13 is reduced. The end of the portion 13 is suitably chamfered as at 15 to effect opening or ensure closing of the latches as appropriate of the needles as they pass the portion 13. Consequently the latter acts additionally as a latch guard.
