Abstract
1,132,184. Knitting machines. H. STOLL, G. STOLL, E. STOLL, E. STOLL, J. STOLL, A. STOLL, R. E. STOLL and M. STOLL. 17 Oct., 1967 [25 Nov., l966], No. 47154/67. Heading D1C. The needles of a parallel machine are recessed on the back edge of the shank as at 6 to provide an inverted V-shaped groove cut across the shank which is connected by a slot 5 in the back of the shank to the usual inclined recess 4 provided for engagement by the needle of the opposed bed when a loop transfer operation is performed. The needle in the opposed bed is raised to project its head into the recess 6 whereafter movement of the needle transferring the loop causes the edge 6" to engage the latch as the head passes into the communicating slot 5 causing the latch to be opened. Consequently the receiving needle is in an open condition when it reaches the position for advancement to receive the loop from the transferring needle.
