Abstract

1,273,493. Treating materials with fluids. HEBERLEIN & CO. A.G. 28 July, 1970 [7 Aug., 1969], No. 36524/70. Heading D1L. In an apparatus for treating thread or weblike materials with liquids, steam or gases, the material 43 is wound around a drum which is rigidly mounted on a shaft and rotatable about its longitudinal axis. The shell 1 of the drum has at least one coaxial and perforated tube e.g. 17, 22, 27, 29, 31, 33 disposed around it and spaced from it by walls which are transverse to the axis and which divide the space between the shell and the perforated tube or tubes into closed chambers, e.g. 20, 25, 28, 30, 32, 34. These closed chambers are linked by supply conduits 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42 to distribution chambers 7, 11 located at the ends of the drum to which the treatment medium is delivered.
