Abstract

1360110 Textile-treating apparatus FUKUI SEIREN KAKO KK 15 Dec 1972 58042/72 Heading D1L A device for continuously treating fabrics with liquids comprises an outer shell body 1, containing a half-cut drum shape 2, perforated as shown at 9, and pivotally supported with the body at 3. At opposite ends of the body 1, are a fabric inlet tube 6, and an outlet tube 7. The drum 2, contains one or more longitudinally extending turbulence plates 5, and also check plates 4, to prevent the fabric being treated from leaving the drum 2. The drum also contains a plurality of parallel grooves 8 in the inner surface of drum 2, of saw-tooth cross-sectional shape which assist the travel of the fabric through the interior of the drum. The inner drum may be supported by a plurality of supporting rollers. In a modification (Figure 5 not shown) the movement of the fabric is also assisted by extracting liquid from the shell body and strongly jetting it from a nozzle located within the fabric inlet tube whereby the fabric is carried along by the liquid flow. The treatment may be used for craping of fabrics or relaxing woven or knitted fabrics. The treating liquid is preferably water.
