Abstract
1,271,568. Cap for pressurized aerosol dispenser. PITTWAY CORP. Dec. 12, 1969 [Sept. 10, 1969], No.60719/69. Heading F1R. In a pressurized aerosol dispensing container 16, wherein the outlet of a valve actuating push button 12 is aligned automatically with the spray guide recess 20 of a cap 10 for the container 16 during assembly of the container and cap, the cap 10 is placed over the push button 12, the upper part of the button engages a central hole 26 in the cap and a projection 28 on the cap 10 rests on the sloping surface 36 of the button, Fig. 2 (not shown). Gravity causes the projection to slide down the slope 36, thus rotating cap 10 and causing the projection 28 to engage a slot 34 in the button 12. The cap can then be secured to the rim 18 of the top of the container by its inner annular wall 30.
