Abstract

1,062,074. Pressurized dispensing containers. E.H. GREEN. June 4, 1964 [July 31, 1963; Dec.26, 1963], No.23266/64. Heading F1R. The spray head 36 of a pressurized dispensing container valve is rotatable relative to the valve plunger 62 to vary the rate at which material is dispensed. The spray head stem 102 is provided with a semi-cylindrical skirt (112). Fig. (not shown), which seats in a track (94), Fig. 10 (not shown) in the base of the socket in the plunger 62, which is prevented from rotating in the housing 32 by means of ribs 74. A slot (120), Fig. 4, formed in the stem 102 co-operates with a stepped surface (86, 87, 88), Fig. 11 (not shown) or an inclined surface (90), Fig. 12 (not shown), of a recess (82) formed in the plunger socket, whereby different lengths of the slot are uncovered depending upon the rotational orientation of the spray head 36. The slot (120) may be stepped, Figs.4 and 14 (not shown), and the slot portions may be provided with webs, Fig. 19 (not shown), which define orifices in conjunction with the slot portions.
