Abstract

1,268,890. Printing apparatus. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. 28 Aug., 1970 [28 Aug., 1969], No. 41535/70. Heading B6C. A solution in the damping fountain of an offset litho press comprises an acidic aqueous treating solution having a pH of 1 to 5 and containing an alkali metal polyphosphate, a phosphoric or citric acid and sodium or potassium nitrate, perchlorate, permanganate or persulphate. An example of such a solution in water is sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium nitrate, phosphoric acid and a surfactant octyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanol.
