Abstract
1321380 Stabilized ferrocyanide solutions A B DICK CO 29 April 1971 [21 May 1970] 12166/71 Heading C1A [Also in Division B6] An aqueous solution of a ferrocyanide (e.g. potassium ferrocyanide) contains a sufficient amount of a dissolved sulphite (e.g. alkali metal or ammonium sulphite) to effect stabilization of the ferrocyanide . The pH of the solution may be adjusted to below 5 by the addition of phosphoric acid and the solution may contain one or all of (a) a buffer (e.g. monobasic ammonium phosphate) (b) a chelating agent to sequester ferric and ferrous ions and (c) a humectant (e.g. glycerol or glycol). The solution may be used as a conversion solution in printing processes.
