Abstract

1,268,165. Feeding sheets. DATA COMPUTING CORP. 20 March, 1970 [21 March, 1969], No. 13469/70. Heading B8R. Cards are separated from the bottom of a pile supported on edge in a bin 13 by a rotating feed plate 55 having protrusions 56 and 57 which engage the edge of a card and forward it along a stationary guide surface to a reading station. A picker knife 20 is reciprocated by a cam associated with plate 55, to lift and wedge the next card to be separated in a slot 87, Fig. 3, such that the card occupies a position 82a, Fig. 6, in the path of the protuberances. A weight may be used to ensure forwarding of the pile along the base of bin 13 to the separation position.
