Abstract

1,262,064. Cleaning textiles. BOWE BOHLER & WEBER KG. 20 Feb., 1970 [20 Feb., 1969], No. 8335/70. Heading D1P. In a dry cleaning process, spots and stains are removed from textiles by a preliminary treatment with steam and or dry cleaning aid, while being tumbled in a rotating drum free from liquor. The steam and surfactant may be supplied through a common pipe or advantageously through separate pipes whereby each may be metered exactly, e.g. using a programme. A water inlet may be provided into the steam pipe for controlling the humidity of the steam.
