Abstract

850,034. Cleaning machines for tripe &c. HEGINBOTTOM, C. March 5, 1959 [March 5, 1958], No. 7006/58. Class 28(2). Tripe &c. is cleaned and washed in a' fixed tub 10 having a perforated rotated false bottom 12 carrying small ribs 15 which fling the tripe against fixed radial scraper vanes 13, water being supplied at 17, and sludge and water being drained from the conical base at an outlet 26. A side door in the tub allows removal of the tripe. The drive shaft 18 is surrounded by a fixed sleeve carrying deflector plates to deflect the tripe on to the scrapers 13. Another form, (Fig. 3 not shown) is supplied with water and steam to scald the tripe and with a different arrangement of cleaning vanes &c.
