Abstract
1,254,060. Electro-chemical analysis. CENTRE NATIONAL DE RECHERCHES METALLURGIQUES. May 14, 1969 [May 14, 1968; Feb. 18, 1969], No. 24516/69. Heading G1N. A solid oxygen-ion electrolyte probe comprises a pellet of stabilized zirconia into which an e.g. silica tube is embedded. The end of the tube may then be heated until it starts to soften, which treatment also hardens the pellet by fritting. A Pt-Pt/Rh thermocouple is embedded in a layer of powdery material (e.g. platina or zirconia) in the bottom of the tube. The reference gas may be supplied through inner refractory tubes carrying the thermocouple wires.
