Abstract

1,249,746. Pneumatic conveyers. MESSER GRIESHEIM G.m.b.H. 25 Sept., 1969 [25 Sept., 1968], No. 47252/69. Heading B8A. The outlet pipe 11 from a pressurized container 1 for supplying ferromagnetic powder to a pneumatic conveyer pipe 13 leading to torch cutting equipment is surrounded by a solenoid 12, which, when energized, prevents the passage of the powder. Compressed air is supplied to the container 1 through a pressure regulator valve 5, a shut-off valve 6 and a solenoid valve 7, and to an injection device 9 through valves 5, 6, 10. In operation, the valves 5, 10 are adjusted, with valves 6, 7 closed and the solenoid 12 energized. Valves 6, 7 are then opened and, when the pressure in the container is sufficiently high, the solenoid 12 is switched off to allow the passage of powder through the pipe 11 to the injection device.
