Abstract

1,249,242. Joint-making packing. ENGINEERING COMPONENTS Ltd., and M. G. HERRINGTON. 3 June, 1970 [20 June, 1969], No. 31342/69. Heading F2B. A cylinder head gasket has a cylinder opening therein surrounded by an inner eyelet 2 and an outer eyelet 3 of thicker material than that of the inner eyelet. The gasket has a body 1 which may be of asbestos faced with copper or steel, compressed asbestos fibre or asbestos or rubber glued on to a steel core. The inner and outer eyelets may be of tinplate of 0À009 inch and 0À015 inch thickness, respectively. The cylinder head 4 on block 5 or both may be formed with recesses 8, 9 to accommodate the outer eyelet.
