Abstract

1,243,201. Container holders. SCAPA MOULDINGS Ltd. (R. P. Ochs). 24 March, 1969 [23 March, 1968], No. 14134/68. Heading B8C. Means to hold two or more elongate containers having one end larger than the other, e.g. bottles, comprises two plate members each having at least one smaller recess. for the smaller end of a container and at least one larger recess for the larger end of a container, so that the containers lie side by side but relatively reversed, the plates being of larger width at the larger recesses and of corresponding side profiles so that they may fit side by side with the wider part of one being adjacent the narrower part of the other. As shown, the plate members may hold three containers, the centre being reversed relative to the others, the wider part of the plates being part octagonal and the narrower part being part square and of the same side as the octagon sides, a stack being formed by engaging one plate member with the other plate of the above row. The plate members may be of metal or wood, but are preferably of expanded polystyrene. The assembly may be placed in a wrapper, which may be shrunk on to it, or held together by a band or tape, or placed in a larger container or box. In one embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown), the smaller recess may be slightly enlarged to hold a tumbler between it and the container.
