Abstract

1,087,193. Packaging and stacking. TORRINGTON MANUFACTURING CO. Sept. 26, 1966 [Oct. 21, 1965], No. 42877/66. Heading B8C. Blowers 13 having rectangular vertical openings, which, as shown, are directed downwards, are packaged between panels 10, 24, 26, 28, 30 having intersecting linear grooves at least in their upper surfaces, the grooves being so arranged that they provide rectangular seatings for the edges of the blower openings. The seatings are of at least two different sizes according to which grooves are used, Fig. 4 (not shown). Grooves may be formed on the lower panel surface and these may be differently spaced from the panel edges, Fig. 6 (not shown), to provide alternative sized seatings. The panels are of plywood, the base panel 10 being thicker and supported on a pallet 12. Metal bands 32, 34 secure the package.
