Abstract

1,244,171. Packaging. ILFORD Ltd. 1 Jan., 1969 [3 Jan., 1968], No. 394/68. Heading B8C. A stack of sheets, e.g. photographic plates, are held firmly against mutual agitation by placing them between two shields 2, 3 each having three surfaces 4, 5 and 5A and 3A, 6 and 7, respectively, of slightly smaller dimension than the stack. The assembly may be tied by bands (8- 10, Fig. 2, not shown) which may be of plastics such as polypropylene, nylon or rayon-fibreglass, or of metal, and they may be secured by clips or welding after tensioning. Tensioning may be by shrinking after welding. Alternatively, the pack may be shrink-wrapped in a sleeve (14, Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) which may be of polyethylene, polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride. The shields may be of unequal size and may be of wood, cardboard or plastics.
