1,132,205. Securing rails to sleepers. EXECUTORS OF JAMES MILLS Ltd. 23 Feb., 1966 [13 March, 1965], No. 10739/65. Heading E1G. A rail clip of resilient circular bar is of the shape shown, in which a substantially straight portion 19 act as an anchoring leg and portions 29, 21 bear on the rail flange 30 and a rail support abutment 17, the portions being joined by return bends and an intermediate portion 23 such that the bend part 20 is substantially stressed only in torsion and the clip driving face 28 lies substantially on the vertical plane through the portion 19. The portion 19 may be offset at its centre to allow easy hand assembly in the anchoring member 15 before driving.
