1,131,884. Winding threads. CHATILLONSOCIETA ANONIMA ITALIANA PER LE FIBRE TESSILI ARTIFICIALI S.p.A. and F. COMOLI [trading as COMOLI-OFFICINA MECCANICA] 25 May, 1967 [30 May, 1966], No. 24413/67. Heading D1J. A traversing mechanism comprises a drum 4, with slits 6 at its ends, which drives the bobbin B, and contra-rotating thread guides t1 t2. In Figure 2 the yarn T is supplied over a bar 3 and the anti-clockwise rotating guide tl has just dropped the thread which is retained by the slit 6 until engaged by clockwise rotating guide t2 and traversed to the other end of the bobbin. To assist dropping and engaging the threads the bar 3 may be reciprocated and the axis of the guides may be inclined (Fig. 4, not shown) so that the engaging guides are at the same distance from the axis of the bobbin.
