Abstract

A thread guiding device comprises a guide moved by a thread or group of threads which it guides, the guide being of resilient construction and loosely slidable along a guide rail between end stops. As shown, a group of yarns 3 running from a stationary guide 4 to be wound and traversed by a grooved drum 2 into a package I passes through an indent 13 in a guide 11. Guide 11 is formed from bent wire and has two portions encircling a bar 9a to be freely traversable therealong between rubber stops 15. The lower part of the guide fits between a second bar 9b and a back plate 7 on which the bars are mounted. Guide 11 may also be placed before Other types of traversing device e.g. a cam reciprocated guide. It is stated that the use of guide 11 improves the winding of the yarn or yarns.
