Abstract

1,127,036. Watering plants or seeds. G. C. DAVEY. 10 Aug., 1967 [19 Aug., 1966], No. 37185/66. Heading A1E. A watering system for plants or seeds comprises a box 1 pivotal about a pivot 2 and an arm 5 carrying a cup 6 to which a plastics pipe 8 is connected, the box, when it is dry, being held in the position shown in the Figure by the weight of plant pot 4c and balance weight 3. In this position water can flow from the plastics bottle 9 via the cup 6 into the box 1. When the box is wet the extra weight of water in the box will cause the box to pivot so that end 1a is raised and cup 6 closes the mouth of the bottle 9 so that no more water flows. A spring may be used instead of the balance weight.
