Abstract
1,122,570. Trundling toys. HILARY PAGE "SENSIBLE" TOYS Ltd. 22 Nov., 1965 [26 Nov., 1964], No. 48022/64. Heading A6S. An animated toy has a body with wheel or roller means and pivotally suspended legs, and is mounted on an axis transverse of the body so that said body or a part thereof sways from side to side as it moves along a surface, the legs swinging forward when clear of the said surface and returning rearwardly when in contact with the said surface. The swaying movement may be produced by mounting the wheels eccentrically on the axis (Figs. 1-8, not shown), or by mounting the roller skew on the axis (Fig. 10), or by using a cranked axle (Fig. 9) to move a part of the body in relation to the remaining portion. Embodiments described and illustrated include animals, clowns, a duck pulling a cart, and a caterpillar having a plurality of body portions.
