[Classes 136 (ii) and 136 (iii)] A model horse with,wheels attached to the lower ends of its legs or like toy vehicle has its front legs attached to a rearwardly extending body portion, while the rear legs form the depending arm of an angle or L-shaped member pivoted to the rear of the body portion, the other arm of the member extending forwardly along the body portion to provide or carry a seat, and the wheels associated with the rear legs, and if desired also those associated with the front legs, being provided with means to prevent free movement in one direction. When the seat is depressed the legs tend to move apart while successive up-and-down movements of the seat result in the vehicle being caused to travel in one direction. In Fig. 1, the model horse has a pawl and ratchet mechanism associated with its rear wheels so that they can move in a forward direction only. Cranked member 5, carrying seat 4 and the rear legs is pivoted to the body at 7. A bar carrying foot rests 21 is hinged to lever 16 which is pivoted to member 5 and which is also slidable within sleeve 17 pivoted to a link 18 journalled at 19 to the body. When the rider's weight is put on the foot rests, the lever 16 and the spring 15 act in unison to raise the seat 4. The cranked member 5 carries a part which represents a tail, this latter wagging as the propelling mechanism is operated. The head and the front wheels may be turned about vertical spindle 12 for steering.
