Abstract

1,119,571. Moulding foamed articles. VINATEX Ltd. 7 Jan., 1965 [15 Oct., 1963], No. 40576/63. Heading B5A. A cellular article, having a surface skin, is formed by injecting a thermoplastic synthetic resin mixed with a foaming agent, at a temperature above the decomposition temperature of said foaming agent into a mould formed from, or lined with, in at least parts, a thermally insulating material. The lining may be bonded to metal mould parts by e.g. brushing or spraying and may comprise P.T.F.E., an epoxy resin or a condensation resin such as a phenolic. The mould parts may alternatively be machined &c. directly from a block of e.g. phenolic or urea resin based materials.
