Abstract
1,116,564. Builder motion for ring-frames. DENCO A.G. 3 June, 1965 [5 June, 1964], No. 237l3/65. Heading D1D. In a ring-frame with the rotation of the drum from which the chain is released to provide the gain, a spring is wound which is released at the end of a set to aback-rotate the drum to starting-point. The apparatus may be combined with apparatus for raising the rail to wind a tip-bunch and for lowering and locking the ring-rail in doffing position. In Fig. 3, during a wind the chain 23 is intermittently let off a drum 26 to allow the ring-rail to be raised by a counterweight, as a gear 33 forwardly indexes a gear 46 at each traverse. Gear 46 is fixed to a sleeve 43 which drives the chain-drum 26 through a oneway clutch 49, thereby winding-up a spring 62 which has one end anchored to the sleeve and the other to a plate 50 splined to a shaft 39. To prevent premature unwinding of the spring, a roller cage 65 has openings for rollers 67, Fig. 6, which engage flats 68 on the plate 50. A compression spring 70 between a flange on the cage and an edge of one of the flats causes the rollers to be jammed against an inner surface 69 of the drum to prevent it rotating in the reverse direction. The lock thus established is released when a lever 81 is rocked by a link 79 when a solenoid is energized. Rewinding continues until a lug 61 engages an. adjustable stop 58. A hand-lever is provided for releasing the lever 81 when it is desired to adjust the relative position of members 61, 58.
