Abstract

1302088 Open-end spindles: driving ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI 13 March 1970 [20 March 1969] 12068/70 Heading DID An open end spinning machine comprises spining units 10, 11 the spinning chambers 9 of which are driven from a common drive, e.g. discs 4 on a shaft 3, the units taking the form of a stationary part 10 and a movable part 11. Part 11 may be pivotable as shown or it may be slideable and it is provided with an inlet 11' for the sliver, and an exit 13 for the yarn; feed rolls including a roll 46 and a sliver separating device 31 are provided with part 11. Part 11 is normally held in its operative position by a lock which may be magnetic. When it is pivoted away from part 10 means attached to it move a pivoted lever, see Fig. 5 not shown, so that a roller lifts a driving belt 5 out of contact with the pulley 8 of the spinning chamber and a brake engages the pulley to bring the chamber to a halt. Each separating roll 31 is normally driven from a shaft 20 extending along the machine via friction discs 30, 33, 32 and when part 11 is pivoted, disc 33 disengages disc 30 and drive to the separating roller is interrupted. Roller 45 feeding sliver to the spinning chamber is normally driven from a shaft 21 extending along the machine via gear wheels 40, 41, 43, 44, 46 and when part 11 is pivoted away from part 10 gears 40, 41 are lifted out of mesh and the drive to the feed roller suspended. Each disc 4 on shaft 3 may drive a number of chambers on each side of the machine by belt 5; if the drive to any unit is interrupted as indicated above the drive to the associated units is uninterrupted.
