Abstract

1,116,064. Moulded plastics containers, PHILLIPS PETROLEUM Co. 27 Sept., 1965 [6 Oct., 1964], No. 41072/65. Heading B8P. A thermoplastic article carrying case comprises a moulded one-piece shell 1, having an open top defined by an inwardly and downwardly extending reinforcing flange 2, and a bottom having indented portions 4 (see also Fig. 1, not shown), on which articles are supported, and in which the top of articles carried b y a similar case are received when the cases are stacked one on top of the other. Tilting pads 3 are provided around the inside periphery of the bottom, to tilt the articles inwards. The ends of the case are provided with an indented channel 5, in which is cut a hole 6 to form a handle, and to which the flange 2 may extend and be joined. The flange may carry an extension which is joined to the walls. The bottom of the case has drainage holes 12, and ridges 8 and 9 which may be straight, chevron-shaped, circular, square, or X-shaped. The corners 7 are bevelled to facilitate nesting of the cases.
