Abstract

1,115,707. Shutteless looms; weft supplying.SULZER BROTHERS Ltd. 9 May, 1966 [25 June, 1965], No. 20469/66. Heading DIE. A weft .supply mechanism comprises a rotating flier 39 which lays weft 10 in coils 73 on a stationary drum 44 from which the coils are pulled endwise by a gripper shuttle 12. The flier 39 is mounted on a shaft 26 which is rotated by a magnetic coupling 32, 33 and the drum 44, also mounted on the shaft 26, is maintained stationary 'by a ring 46 having magnets 48 cooperating with keepers 49 on the drum. A photelectric device 51 senses the drum and, when the coils 73, build up, switch off the magnet coupling 32, 33 or causes the motor to run more slowly.
