Abstract

1,112,998. Ice-making. KIBERNETIK A.G. 20 July, 1966 [17 Aug., 1965], No. 32652/66. Heading F4H. Ice-making apparatus comprises a screwconveyer 1 for removing ice from the walls of a freezer chamber and forcing the ice through extrusion apertures 22 in an end plate 20, the shaft of the conveyer extending through plate 20 and being grooved to permit air trapped beneath the plate to be vented to a space 17. The latter contains a blade 24 secured to the conveyer shaft for breaking the ice issuing through apertures 22 into cubes which are discharged through an outlet 26. The body of conveyer 1 tapers towards plate 20. A refrigerant jacket 13 surrounds the freezing chamber and has an annular restriction 11 adjacent its outlet 9 to prevent the return of liquid refrigerant to the compressor.
