Abstract

1,102,293. Pneumatic conveyers. POLYMARK Ltd. 11 Feb., 1966 [19 Feb., 1965], No. 7248/65. Heading B8A. In a pneumatic conveyer for textile articles in a laundry in which the articles are delivered to a washing- machine 7 or to selected outlets 9 in a distributer unit 8 controlled by a keyboard 11, the articles are fed into the duct D through a Venturi device. As shown, air is blown through the duct D by a blower 19 and articles are fed by an endless belt conveyer 23 to an opening 21 in the duct. On the upstream side of the opening 21 there is provided a deflector member 22 for restricting the cross-sectional flow area within the duct and to produce a reduction in pressure adjacent the opening 21. The deflector member may be a fixed plate 22 as shown or, alternatively, the conveyer belt or the base of a shoot may be extended into the duct. A guide plate 25 is provided downstream of the opening 21.
