Abstract
1,196,782. Combustion chamber. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A. G. July 7, 1967 [Aug. 16, 1966], No.31485/67. Heading F1B. Fuel is injected into a cylindrical combustion chamber 2, inclined to the cylinder axis, through two or more jets 6, 7, spaced by a small angle, the jets being substantially perpendicular to the plane of rotation of the air swirling about the chamber axis. The jets 6, 7, are substantially parallel and adjacent to the longest part 9 of the chamber wall. An igniter 5 for starting is situated close to the jets 6, 7; alternatively a separate jet may be directed on to the igniter.
