Abstract

1,190,377. Two-part couplings. OMEGA ENG. Inc. 22 Aug., 1967 [26 Aug., 1966] No. 38315/66. Heading H2E. A connector comprises a socket assembly having a body formed of portions 1a 1b having separate contacts 8, 16, the latter having a resilient arm 18 to grip a pin of a plug assembly 20. The pin may have a circumferential groove to improve the contact. The contact 8 may be a tubular socket 8 having slots 15 into one of which the arm 18 projects. The body portions la, 1b may be identical or one may be in two parts (Fig. 5, not shown) which are together identical to the other portion. The body may be of plastics or ceramic material. The connector may be polarized by socket contacts of different sizes. In another embodiment (Fig. 9, not shown) the contacts of each socket are a strip (35) and a member 43 with a resilient arm 44 which accommodate flat pin contacts between them. Registering lugs (29a) and recesses are provided on the body portions.
