[Also in Division C7] A uranium base alloy, for use in nuclear reactor fuel elements, comprises: Mo 0À03- 0À25%; Sn 0À02-0À15%; optionally one or more of Fe 0À02-0À08%, Si 0À02-0À15%; and Al 0À02-0À2% or Cr 0À02-0À08%; the balance, apart from impurities, being uranium. Grain refining heat treatments are described.
